Unable to Log In or Stay Connected to HITS (ISP)

← Back to Search

In rare cases, an internet service provider may block the network traffic used by the HITS Point of Sale system. When this happens, you may be unable to log in, experience repeated disconnections, or find that HITS will not connect even though other websites are working normally.

This issue usually affects only a small number of users and is related to the internet connection being used—not your HITS username, password, or computer.

Test Your Internet Connection

On the affected computer, open a web browser and visit:

https://www.aasys-portal.com:60002/aapublic/aapublic.asmx?op=GetLoginInfo

What the Result Means

If the page opens:
Your internet connection can reach the HITS login service. Contact HITS Support so we can investigate other possible causes.

If the page does not open or shows an error:
Your internet service provider, firewall, router, or network security system is likely blocking the connection.

Confirm the Cause Using a Mobile Hotspot

To confirm that the issue is related to your internet provider:

  1. Disconnect the computer from its normal internet connection.
  2. Connect the computer to a mobile phone hotspot.
  3. Open the test page again.
  4. Try logging into HITS.

If the page opens and HITS works while connected to the mobile hotspot, this confirms that the problem is with the original internet connection or network configuration.

Temporary Solution

You may continue using the mobile hotspot until your normal internet connection is corrected.

Permanent Solution

Contact your internet service provider or network administrator and ask them to allow outbound traffic to:

Host: www.aasys-portal.com
Ports: 21, 23, 3000, 60002
Protocol: HTTPS/TCP

Explain that business-critical point-of-sale traffic is being blocked on TCP port 60002.

Your provider may need to adjust a firewall, security filter, advanced threat-protection service, or router setting. Once the connection is allowed, you should be able to open the test page and use HITS normally without the hotspot.
