Flagging Inventory Items for Deletion

Overview

This guide will walk you through the process of flagging inventory items for deletion (marking them as inactive) and how to contact HITS Software Support to finalize the removal.

Step 1: Flag a Single Item for Deletion

o From the main menu, click on Views > Administration & Utilities.

o Click on Inventory > Inventory Add/Edit/Delete

o Enter the Product# and press ENTER or use the binoculars to look up the inventory item you wish to flag for deletion

o Check the Set INACTIVE checkbox and click Save

Note: Setting an item “Inactive” prevents a user from searching and adding this item to a ticket from the Inventory Scan Screen. An inactive item will no longer display from any inventory scan screens and can only be accessed via the Inventory Add/Edit/Delete window.

o Click the Save – Set the Item INACTIVE button

o Next, click the Flag Unused button
Note: This will set the Raw Size to begin with “Z” as well as change the MFG code to ZZZ

Step 2: HITS Technical Support Deletion Utility

o Reach out to tech@aasys.com or give us a call at 1-800-422-2032 to request our team to run the inventory delete utility for you.

The inventory delete routine can be run by two methods:

o By Date Last SoldProvide the HITS Technical Support agent with a “last sold” date to run the inventory delete routine. Any inventory items that have not sold since this date will be deleted from your inventory.
NOTE: Any items that have a quantity on hand or have been sold within the date range requested will be marked inactive.

o Delete ZZZ ItemsAdvise the HITS Technical Support Team that you are wanting us to delete your inventory for any items marked as ZZZ for deletion. We will then run the inventory delete routine to delete any items marked as ZZZ and skip over any other items that do not have a MFG = ZZZ.
Note: Flagged items are not permanently deleted until Andreoli Software Technical Support runs a deletion routine.

Once our support team runs the Inventory Delete Routine, these items cannot be restored so be sure that you are wanting to delete the inventory items or just have them set to INACTIVE which just hides these items from the Inventory Scan Screen.
