Introduction:

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is a protocol for sending emails online. When integrating SMTP with software like HITS by Andreoli, it’s important to configure it correctly to avoid issues with email delivery failures.

However, users can integrate SMTP with HITS by Andreoli by ensuring the following prerequisites are met. Andreoli assumes no responsibility for any issues, errors, or data loss that may arise from attempting to use external email platforms or servers with HITS.

SMTP Rate Limits per service (As of July 2024)

Prerequisites:

  • Access to an SMTP server (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, a company mail server).
  • Valid email account credentials for authentication.
  • Knowledge of the SMTP server settings (host, port, security options).

 

SMTP Configuration Settings:

General Settings:

  • SMTP Server (Host): The server address of your SMTP provider (e.g., smtp.gmail.com for Gmail).
  • Port: The port used for SMTP communication (commonly 587 for TLS, 465 for SSL, or 25 for non-secure connections).
  • Security Protocol: TLS or SSL to ensure email transmission security.
  • Authentication: Requires a valid email address and password for authentication.
