Write-In Vehicle

Sales tickets (quotes/ workorders/ invoices) allow you to manually “write-in” the vehicle freehand.  This can be useful if you know the customer’s vehicle but have not yet gathered the tag or VIN.  Typically this is used as a temporary note until the vehicle’s tag can be gathered.  (If using CARFAX, the tag will provide the year, make, model, engine, and VIN).

However, vehicles that are “written-in” on the ticket will not save as vehicles in the system preventing you from tracking history for this vehicle.

For vehicles to be tracked in the system, they have to added to the system with a unique Tag#.  This is done by selecting the Vehicle Lookup button, and then Adding Vehicle.
