Printing labels, invoices, stickers, and reports is a critical part of shop workflow. While HITS is not a printing or hardware company, we understand how important this functionality is and are here to help when we can. This guide covers how to set up your printing environment, avoid common issues, and take full advantage of specialty printing features like tire labels and oil change stickers.
General Printing Best Practices
Set Your Default Printer in Windows
1.) Press Windows+R, type control, and hit Enter to open Control Panel.
2.) Go to Devices and Printers.
3.) Right-click your preferred printer > Set as default printer.
4.) For label printers, also click Printer Preferences to confirm paper size.
Avoid Browser Print Shortcuts
- Always use the Print buttons in HITS (POS, Workorder, Receipts).
- Avoid using
Ctrl + P, which can cause alignment or formatting issues.
Preview Before Printing
- Use the View PDF radio option to check layout, alignment, and margins.
Common Printing Issues & Solutions

| Barcodes unreadable | Low DPI or improper scale | Print at 300+ DPI, use 100% scale (no “Fit to Page”) |
